The Jaden Chronicles


There are some things you need to have and know to get the best out of this web version of the Jaden Cronicals. They are actually very basic but I'll explain them fully for the benefit of users who might need a little extra help with the technicalities. The site is designed for Internet Explorer 3.02 and above. I have no idea what it looks like in Netscape or Opera or any other browser. I hope its OK with them but I'd bet there's a few things different or not working but don't let this stop you. It's designed for PC's running Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT 4+ What it looks like on Macs or other operating systems, again I have no idea but I guess they'll cope with the basics. You should ideally also have the latest version of the windows media player which you can get from MicroSoft for free, just look them up in your search engine. If you haven't got it yet then you're missing out on a lot of neat features that I think you'll want anyway, regardless of this site, but do keep your old one as well as it can do a few old tricks still worth having that the new one can't).

Finally, and for windows users this is really important, to enjoy this site as it was intended, you should have Black Chancery TrueType font installed. If you don't have it you can get it now by clicking here.

Unless you are going to get the offline version of this site (see below), go get the font now, go offline, install it if you haven't got it already, then come back online here. It's a BEAUTIFUL font and you won't regret having it anyway. If you don't know how already, to install the font in windows unzip it then go START BUTTON, CONTROL PANEL, choose the FONTS ICON, then drop the font into the fonts folder that has opened. That's it.

OK now that's a LOT of stuff but at least I haven't inflicted ANY Java on you! There is no Java at all in this site. If you are using a system not quite as specified well it will all probably work fairly OK anyway, but like I said, I don't actually know.

I assume you are now ready to browse this site so YOU NOW HAVE TWO CHOICES. This is a very large website and given download times you might like to download this whole site as a couple of zip files and enjoy speedy cheap offline page loading. Or, you can carry on reading it on the web, but the music and pics really do work a lot better offline. TO DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE JADEN WEBSITE AS TWO ZIP FILES CLICK EACH ANGEL BELOW IN TURN. Each file is about 0.75 megabytes and so the two will take about 5 minutes altogether to download if you have a nice clean uncongested net connection. It's MUCH quicker than trying to view this site and listen to all the music right through online. When you have got BOTH the files make a folder on your desktop called "Jaden" and unzip BOTH of them all into that. You'll find the spell corrected version of the text is also in there as well as the Black Chancery font. When you're ready go offline and install the font if you need to. Then you can launch the jaden.htm file in your Jaden folder. Alternatively to continue viewing online just click Jaden's pendant at the bottom left of this page. Every time you are ready to move on, click Jaden's pendant. And hey, take your time, relax with the music, and ENJOY!
